THE LORD’S SUPPER

THE LORD’S SUPPER

For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. – 1 Corinthians 11: 23-26

SELF EXAMINATION:

Confess your sins to the Lord and thank Him for His forgiveness!

Heavenly Father, I pray that you would forgive me of all of my sin. I believe, that I can be forgiven. Thank you Lord, that you are faithful and just to forgive me and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Thank you Jesus, that you are merciful to me according to my unrighteousness, and my sins and iniquities will you remember no more. Heavenly Father, I believe, that you have removed my sin from me as far as the east is from the west. Thank you Lord that I am forgiven.

Scriptural basis for your prayer:

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9)
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. (Hebrews 8:12)
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us. (Psalms 103: 12)

ABOUT THE BREAD:
(The Body of Jesus Christ)

The bread used for communion signifies the body of Jesus, which was broken for us. He took on all sin, iniquity, rebellion, disease, grief and shame. The body of Jesus Christ carried all of these burdens for us!
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank you, for the body of Jesus Christ. Thank you Lord that you bore in it, all of my sin, all of my sorrows, all of my sickness, and all of my infirmities. Thank you Jesus that the chastisement of my peace was upon you and by your stripes, I was healed! (break the bread)
This is my body, which is for you, do this in remembrance of me.  (eat the bread)
Scriptural Basis for your prayer:
“Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” – Isaiah 53: 4-5
“Who his own self bore our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes you were healed” – I Peter 2:24

ABOUT THE WINE:
(The blood of Jesus Christ)

The wine (or grape juice) represents His blood, which was shed to establish a new covenant. It brought the forgiveness of sins and sets us apart in holiness unto the Lord. When we take each element, we remember the Lord’s Death and proclaim it once again! Praise Jesus!
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank you for the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father, I believe, that the blood of Jesus cleanses me from all sin. I plead the blood of Jesus over my life right now. Heavenly Father, I believe, that the blood of Jesus breaks every curse off of my life. I am blessed, because I am washed in the blood of Jesus. Thank you that the curse of sin is broken and I am clean. I plead your precious blood over my life right now. Heavenly Father, I believe, that the blood of Jesus and the Cross of Calvary, set me free from the law of sin and death. Thank you that you said: “For whom the Son sets free is free indeed!” Thank you Lord for my freedom. Please cover me Lord, in your precious blood. In Jesus Name. Amen.
Scriptural Basis for your prayer:
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. – I John 1:7-9 New King James Version (NKJV)
“We have redemption through His blood.” – Ephesians 1: 7
NOTE: The curse is death, sin, sickness, disease, poverty, lack, depression—anything bad you can think of. Adam’s sin gave satan authority over the life of man, but because of the power of the blood of Jesus, the moment you made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, you were redeemed from the curse and satan was rendered powerless!
This cup is the New Covenant in my blood. Do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me!
(drink the cup)
For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you do proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes!
